Coming back into the lounge at tea time to find Smiling Flower carefully picking out strands of spaghetti from her bowl and gently placing them one by one in her hair…. She loves spaghetti and seemed to want to keep it there all evening…
Giving her a bath and found myself laughing as she tried to pick up the bubbles with her thumb and index finger, one at a time. The concentration was intense even though the lack of success must have been disappointing!
Hearing the most beautiful sound in the world as Smiling Flower giggled throughout a bath with her cousin. She has discovered the joy of splashing and they were seeing how wet they could get the walls, the carpet and the adults.
Walking along a beautiful coastline, with Smiling Flower marching out in the kaywalker, the wind wrapping itself around her body and ruffling her hair and the sun warm on her skin. Then she stopped, balanced herself, let go of the walker, and looked very serious as she signed ‘drive home – tea’. A whole sentence at 21 months!
Life is good just now.
